He approached it with a bowl of water, only to have it slapped away, according to his Facebook post on a community page.
But when Atkinson began gently brushing the critter's fur with a hairbrush to remove the plethora of prickly burrs stuck on it, the marsupial was won over.
Atkinson spoke to ABC about the mini makeover, saying "I just gently poked the brush at some of the burrs ... within seconds it decided 'this is alright, I'll have more of this.'"
Who wouldn't? It does look pretty damn relaxing.
Nothing like getting by with a little *brush* from a friend.
