Facebook is eroticism lordenow making it easier to keep your information private and secure.
As part of Data Privacy Day on Jan. 28, Facebook is launching a new version of its Privacy Basics page to help people understand how to take control of their information on the site.
SEE ALSO: Facebook’s fake news fix comes way too lateThe new site is mobile-friendly and redesigned based on user feedback. Facebook is also partnering with state attorneys general, privacy experts and others to help users understand how to manage their privacy online. There are 32 guides in 44 languages on the site, covering topics like managing your privacy, customizing who can view different parts of your profile and ways to increase account security.
Facebook users don't need to go directly to the Privacy Basics site to see its content. They'll also get prompts when taking certain actions -- for example, if you change a post's privacy setting to "Public," you may receive a prompt to visit Privacy Basics to learn about the different audience options and what they mean.
The launch comes at an important time when people are concerned about the privacy and security of their communication (witness the recent scrutiny on WhatsApp). In recent years, Facebook has rolled out a number of features around secure communication, including end-to-end encryption in Messenger.
You can view Privacy Basics at facebook.com/about/basics.
