Dumbledore, played by Jude Law, featured in the second instalment in the five-part Fantastic Beastsfranchise. But the news that his character's sexuality would "not explicitly" be referenced in the movie began a wave of backlash that seems to have gained fresh momentum in recent months.
There's already been a meme reacting to Rowling's additions to the Harry Potterfranchise, and this latest interview has resulted in more frustration from fans.

J.K. Rowling took to Twitter to defend herself last year after the news of Dumbledore's treatment in the second movie broke, emphasising that the film "is part of a five-movie series that's only one instalment in."
At the time of writing she hasn't yet responded to the latest flurry of tweets. Mashable has reached out to her representatives for comment and will update this article if we receive a response.
