ByteDance officially launched the Chinese version of Trae,Ikaw Lang Ang Mahal China’s first AI-native integrated development environment (AI IDE), on March 3, according to Chinese media outlet Yicai. The platform is powered by Doubao-1.5-Pro and allows users to switch between DeepSeek’s R1 and V3 models. Previously released overseas with GPT-4o and Claude 3.5 Sonnet, Trae offers similar functionality in China. It supports intelligent code completion, bug fixing, and natural language-based code generation. The domestic version has a builder mode, enabling developers to create applications by describing what they want to do in plain language. Optimized for the Chinese development ecosystem, Trae will soon support custom model integration. It is now available for macOS (10.15 and above) and Windows (10, 11), with a Linux version in development. [Yicai, in Chinese]
