Amazon's newest Echo is Watch Suicide Squad Onlinehere and it's got a screen.
As leaked last week, the new Echo Show has 7-inch screen to display visual information and make video calls with other Echo Show owners.
SEE ALSO: Amazon wants to see into your bedroom, and that should worry youPriced at $229.99 and available in white or black, the Echo Show's boxy design is questionable. Buy two and you'll get $100 off.
That said, the screen lets you see information you can't with the Echo or Echo Dot devices. Amazon says you'll be able to watch video flash briefings on YouTube, display music lyrics, photos and videos, see shopping lists, monitor security cameras, and more.
Here are a few new things you can tell Alexa thanks to its new screen:
"Alexa, show the front door camera."
"Alexa, show me the trailer for Rogue One."
"Alexa, show me cooking videos on YouTube."
"Alexa, show me the weekend forecast."
In addition to the video-calling feature, the Echo Show's also got a new audio calling feature, which lets you make free calls to anyone with an Echo, an Echo Dot, or the Alexa app on their phone or tablet.
Another feature called "Drop In" lets your friends, uh, drop in on your Echo Show's screen to basically say "what's up?" (Don't worry -- you need to approve which friends can do this.) Amazon says this could be used to "let the family know it’s time for dinner, see the baby’s nursery, or check in with a close relative."
The Echo Show has eight microphones and beam-forming audio tech to better pick up voice commands. Amazon also touts better-sounding stereo speakers powered by Dolby.
The Amazon Echo Show will launch on June 28.
