Conan O'Brien figured out how to make VR work on Sister in law Who Let Me Use Her Holelate night TV and now Jimmy Fallon is taking a shot at it, too.
SEE ALSO: 2016 was supposed to be the year of VR. Instead, augmented reality ruledFallon set up a massive video display connected to the HTC Vive VR headset to play what he calls "Virtual Reality Pictionary" with guests Michael Che (Saturday Night Live) and Andrew Rannells (HBO's Girls).
Using the VR drawing app Tilt Brush, the game works pretty well, and delivers a few funny moments, but it's also an amazingly low-tech way to show off the highest level VR system available (next to the Oculus Rift) to the public today.
Nevertheless, there's a good chance this is the first time many viewers have even seen someone drawing in VR, so the old school game meets new tech demonstration is a pretty good first look for anyone who isn't already familiar with what high-end VR looks like.
And the best part is, contrary to Fallon's funny quip that the set-up cost the show "millions of dollars," the HTC Vive is just $800 and can be displayed on a normal computer screen.
Yes, VR Pictionary might actually turn into a thing we do.
