Warning: Contains spoilers for Game of ThronesSeason 6.
LONDON -- Somewhere deep,France Archives deep down, there's a shred of goodness in Cersei Lannister.
Or there was, anyway.
SEE ALSO: Here's your first sweet glimpse of 'Game of Thrones' Season 7Up until the final episode of Season 6, Cersei felt more like a survivor -- a character who has been backed into a corner and has had to be ruthless in order to protect her children -- as opposed to an out and out villain.
Following Tommen's death, Cersei now only has one person to look out for: herself.
During a wide-ranging interview with actor Lena Headey, Mashableasked her about Cersei's character; does she have a shred of goodness left in her by this point, or has it now been snuffed out completely?
"I don't play her as a villain," said Headey. "I don't set out to do that consciously, I just play a woman who is a survivor and will do exactly what a man would do -- which is, you know, murder somebody when you're in a war. Maybe just not directly."
Headey went on to say that Cersei does what she needs to in order to stay where she wants to be: in a position of power.
To finish, we asked if Headey she had any hopes that Cersei might redeem herself before the end?
"No," she responded. "I think that would ruin it."
Sounds like Cersei's not going to be making amends with Jamie -- or anyone -- anytime soon.
If we had to guess, we'd say this Season might be her last: but if she does die, she's sure as hell going to go down fighting.
