"Don't let the public vote to name things" is definition on eroticismprobably a lesson we should have learned by now, but apparently Sweden didn't get the memo.
SEE ALSO: Horsey McHorseface isn't just a joke name, it's a winning horse tooRemember Boaty McBoatface, the name chosen by the public for Britain's new polar research vessel? Now, the Swedes have decided to name one of the four trains that travels between the cities of Stockholm and Gothenburg Trainy McTrainface.
Trainy McTrainface chugged across the competition, receiving 49 percent of the votes in the polls and finishing wellahead of the three other options: Hakan, Miriam, and Poseidon.
McTrainface will join the ranks of two other trains named by the Swedish public: Estelle, for the 5-year-old daughter of Sweden's Princess Victoria, and Glenn, due to a long-running joke that everyone in Gothenburg is named Glenn.
We hope that Trainy McTrainface will not meet the same fate as Boaty McBoatface. The public vote for the vessel was eventually overruled, and the ship was named the RSS Sir David Attenborough instead.
The botched McBoatface decision led to worldwide disappointment, MTR Express told The Guardian. It hoped that Trainy McTrainface would "be received with joy by many, not only in Sweden."
While we can't speak for the rest of the world, we can confirm that Trainy McTrainface has certainly brought usgreat joy.
