South by South Lawn will bring together experts on art, technology, food, innovation and social change for one day to share their thoughts, ideas and plans for the future -- like the White House Student Film Fest, which will include appearances by the cast and creators of Stranger Things.
“Climate change is real. It is happening right now,” DiCaprio said in February while accepting his first Academy Award. “It is the most urgent threat facing our entire species, and we need to work collectively together and stop procrastinating."
DiCaprio recently spoke at the Oceans Summit hosted by John Kerry, and is producing a National Geographic documentary along with Fisher Stevens. The film will focus on how humans can protect the world's environment and ecosystems and deal with the damage already incurred.
South by South Lawn will take place at the White House on Oct. 3.
