After months of drama, sexy erotice striptease spitting, and speculation, fans and nosey people alike ran to the cinema to see what all that worrying was about.
It turns out Don't Worry Darling, Olivia Wilde's much-anticipated psychological thriller starring Florence Pugh and Harry Styles, is a real "go-to-the-theater" kind of movie. While the movie received a 38 percent on Rotten Tomatoes, it topped the box office its opening weekend thanks to a perfect cocktail of celebrity gossip, internet memes, and Styles stans.
According to Variety, the movie brought in $19.2 million in ticket sales this weekend domestically and $30 million globally. 66 percent of ticket buyers were female and 70 percent were 18-34 years old suggesting that Styles stans showed up for their idol, despite less than favorable reviews of his performance.
Similar to Minions: Rise of Gru, the virality of the Don't Worry Darling promo seems to have also played a factor in getting people to the theater if the Tweets about the film are anything to go by.

Perhaps now that the movie killed opening weekend we will never have to hear a peep about it again.
