Varietyreports that Lennon's widow and frequent collaborator, Yoko Ono, will receive a songwriting credit for the song that defines his legacy, "Imagine."

The timing is significant. "Imagine" received the Centennial Song Award from the NMPA on Wednesday night, which Ono and the couple's son, Sean Lennon, accepted on Lennon's behalf.
Ono was already receiving royalties for the song following Lennon's death, so this will not have any significant impact for her financially, but it's about damn time she gets some respect.
Update 6/17/17:
An earlier version of this story stated that this would push back the timeline of when "Imagine" enters the public domain. The song will be in the public domain 95 years after it was originally published in 1971.
