Is Apple really going to stop including the power adapter in-box for your brand new iPhone?i cast level four eroticism
These surveys may be hinting that, at the very least, the company is strongly considering it.
Two people have recently posted screenshots on Twitter of an Apple survey they received after purchasing a new iPhone. The survey specifically asks each user what they did with the charger from their old iPhone.

“What did you do with the USB power adapter that came in the box with the iPhone XR that you replaced?” asks Apple’s survey to Twitter user @Gunstaxl, which was first discovered by 9to5Mac.
The questionnaire provides multiple choice answers such as “Gave it to a family member or friend,” “No longer working or not working well,” and “Still using it at home.”

Apple sent the same survey to @bedabb_, first surfaced by MacRumors, asking about the old charger from his iPhone 7 Plus.
As MacRumors points out, both users are located in Brazil, which means that Apple could exclusively be targeting the country for this survey.
Analysts have recently predictedthat Apple could be removing the iPhone charger and earbuds that are usually included in the box from its upcoming iPhone 12 line of smartphones. If a user needs both of those items, that’s around an extra $60 on top of the new phone cost.
Apple’s survey could be trying to gauge just how many iPhone users actually need yet another charger. There's surely quite a few longtime customers who have more than a few lying around. Or, the company could be trying to figure out how much more it could make from not including one.
It should also be noted that the survey specifically asks about the USB power adapter. It goes as far as to explains to the user that this is the item that plugs into a wall outlet and is not the same as the charging cable.
Mashable couldn’t locate any other online discussion surrounding this survey and have reached out to Apple for more information. However, 9to5Mac makes mention of previous instancesin which Apple conducted user surveys.
