One day after Donald Trump sided with Vladimir Putin regarding Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election,The Ages of Lulu (1990) the official president of Treason™ tried to backtrack, saying he had "full faith in our intelligence agencies."

It's unclear what caused the momentary blackout, (Someone backing into the light switch? A brief power outage due the rain in D.C. today? A patriotic ghost?). But it was certainly some on-the-nose pathetic fallacy. One of those scenarios that, if you pitched it for a movie scene, you'd probably be asked to "tone it down a little."
