Kaepernick's Nike ad features a close-up of the football player's face, and ad copy that reads, "Believe in something. Even if it means sacrificing everything."

The athlete rose to national fame for being the first NFL player to kneel during the National Anthem in protest of police brutality against African-American people in the United States. His protest has since inspired players across the league to do the same.

Those who inexplicably take issue with the ad have since launched a severely misguided protestthat encourages people to destroy perfectly good Nike gear in the name of...who knows what.

But elsewhere on the internet, people are simply turning Kaepernick's ad into a meme, as they would any other popular ad. People have been creating fake ads that closely resemble Nike's.

Even Donald Trump Jr. took it upon himself to "fix" the Nike ad by making one that featured his dad.

But thankfully, most of the memes (unlike the protest) were all pretty light-hearted and silly, featuring prominent characters in pop culture and such.
